Last night we were invited by our lovely hosts at Poggio tre Lune, to an evening of Opera at a nearby friend’s home.
They organise an evening like this every so often, where all the neighbours gather together to enjoy a private performance, conducted by one of their friends who happens to be an opera singer.
Guests bring a dish, some wine, a token monetary contribution and a sense of wonder.
We were delightfully serenaded by this fantastic Soprano and a male Baritone, accompanied by the piano.
The performance was followed by a wonderful buffet of dishes, all home-made by the various guests. And some local wine (produced by our hosts here).
What a magical night of classic Italian culture.
